Meet the family behind Speckle Valley Beef—raising grass-fed beef with care in the Adelaide Hills and delivering direct to your door.
After a decade of farming and a lifetime growing up on the land, we’re proud to bring honest, Adelaide Hills beef straight from our paddocks to your plate.
We are a fourth-generation farming family based in the scenic Adelaide Hills, who are passionate about bringing sustainable, grass-fed beef from the hills to the home.
Our philosophy is simple: raise local, quality grass-fed beef and encourage the use of every part of the animal, because true sustainability starts with how we farm and how we eat.
Kent was born and raised on a farming property in the Flinders ranges and moved to Adelaide to fullfill a trade background. The passion for farming never left him and after getting married Kent and Suzanna bought their first property in the Adelaide Hills in 2015. They started raising cattle on their property and from there have slowly expanded to raise cattle and grow pasture for hay and silage.
They have enjoyed providing beef for their families consumption the traditional way, from the paddock to the plate. Delivering beef personally to extended families has been rewarding and this has caused them to branch out in providing beef for others that are interested in knowing that their produce is traceable to a local family farm. Their care for the cows is at the forefront of the beef production.
Our cattle graze and roam freely across our farms in the Adelaide Hills.
The high rainfall and prime agricultural land of the Adelaide Hills means we can raise quality beef on pasture and pasture-based hay, year-round. We believe that caring for the land and successful livestock handling ensures optimal animal performance and meat quality.
We run two of the best breeds for meat and carcase quality: Speckle Park and Angus.
Our Angus herds are derived from only the best stud stock operations in South Australia. Angus beef is world renowned for its intra-muscular marbling, tenderness, texture, meat flavour, and colour.
The Speckle Park breed is known for its excellent eating quality, tenderness, flavour, and marbled texture. Quality beef starts and finishes with quality genetics.
We respect the natural bond between cow and calf, allowing them to stay together for longer.
This low-stress methodology supports healthy growth, strong maternal instincts, and overall herd wellbeing.
We’re proud to offer carbon-neutral delivery, our beef is personally delivered by the farmer each week, travelling straight from the farm to the butcher, avoiding trucks, and reducing our environmental impact.
